(The Series March 2023 Part 3 is released now. They are married in the year 2012. We have a very long waiting list. We extend to 2025.)

— Keem Fun, Mauritius

Answer

The greatest skill in chi kung and Taijiquan is to enter into a chi kung state of mind.

"To enter in a chi kung state of mind" is coined by the great chi kung master and doctor, Sifu Yan Xin, of China. In simple English, it is to enter into a higher level of consciousness.

If you are in a chi kung state of mind, you have internal force and can use your Taijiquan patterns for combat. If you are not in a chi kung state of mind, you merely perform Taijiquan external forms, which people normally do and they do not realize it. Of course, you do not normally use Taijiquan patterns for combat, but the wonderful benefits of practicing genuine Taijiquan can be used for daily activities.

Distant Chi Transmission can be used for saving lives. Normally my students practice genuine high level chi kung.

I suspect your wife has not entered into a chi kung state of mind, though she has been cured of the auto-immune disease. If she practices genuine, high level chi kung she would not suffer from chronic fatigue, eye fatigue, dizziness, being unable to walk properly and a bit of depression.

You and your wife should come for my Intensive Chi Kung Course. It is a wonderful course. You can read The Unbelievable Intensive Chi Kung Course. If you do not enter into a chi kung state of mind within an hour, you don't have to pay for the course fee, but you have to pay for other expenses incurred during you stay. I suggest that you stay longer before or after the course.

With the world lockdown, I don't know when I can offer the course. But you can check my website. There is much information about health and daily living. For example, I am now over 70, and I have not been sick for more than 50 years. Before that I was occasionally sick.

Question 2

I hope you and the whole Wong Happy Family are well!

I am in Mexico with Lina teaching and travelling. This place brings good memories of our visits together to this wonderful country in the past and to our fun adventure flying a hot air balloon over the pyramids of Teotihuacan.

— Sifu Piti Parra Duque, Colombia

Answer

It is great that you and Lina are in Mexico.

Mexico brings back happy memories where we were on a balloon over some pyramids. I also recall the house we stayed and the road was lined with jacaranda trees in their purple blossoms. I fondly recall the time in Mexico with a shaman.

I told Angel Perez (of Puerto Rico) that Bone Marrow Cleansing is a good exercise, and that high level people would pay higher fees to learn from us.

Question 3

I've reflected deeply on my journey and feel immense gratitude to have had the fortune to have found your teachings.

— Fernando, Portugal

Answer

It is great to receive your email.

"To be accomplished in the Shaolin arts is better than changing stone to gold by touch." At first I thought it was much exaggerated, but now I realize its truth.

I taught a lady in Barcelona. She mentioned that she did not know when she would die, but she knew that she would live as long as she practiced chi kung. She suffered from cancer. Of course she recovered.

I thought she was poetic, but now I realize it is true. When there is chi, there is life.

Question 4

Please find attached a book called "Secret Methods of Acquiring External and Internal Mastery."

Have you seen this book before? What is your opinion on it?

— Bala. India

Answer

Thank you for the book.

The book, "Lian Gong Mi Jue" which means "Secret Methods of Acquiring External and Internal Mastery" is a treasure -- only to those who understand the methods. I would recommend you to read Three Reasons Why Classics are Not Easily Understandable and relevant materials.

I haven't seen this book.

My opinions are as follows:

One must understand the methods. It is best to learn from a master. He knows what and when to teach.

Let us take an example. On page 21, there is a method called "Ma Dang Bu" or "Rider's Stance". If one does not know the methods, he will likely derive harm rather than benefit. For example, he may not be straight or vertical, though he thinks he is.

I have chosen "Ma Dang Bu", or Horse-Riding Stance in Shaolin Wahnam, as an example. It will be difficult if he does not know the methods, and usually he does not know.

There are many methods in the book. It is sufficient for a person to practice just three or four methods. The other methods are for comparison.

Question 5

How are you? When I meditated with the Bodhi Tree posture I almost fell and had to stop. What happened?

— Michel, Netherlands

Answer

Life is treating me very well.

When you meditated in the Bodhi position, which I presumed was the lotus position, you almost fell. This was because you could not relax, and myriad thoughts came to your mind. This was common. Most people cannot relax and think of nothing.

Usually it is better to stand upright and be relaxed. The more you relax, the better. Just relax and think of nothing.

It is not easy to relax and think of nothing, but it is a better position. Start with just a short time, say a minute. Gradually you can extend the time. When you can relax and think of nothing, you may progress to the lotus position. The lotus position takes a long time.

Question 6

Hey Sifu I got an email from your secretary saying you are not teaching at the moment which I understand due to the pandemic.

— Brandon, USA

Answer

At the moment I am not teaching due to the world lockdown. But I may be teaching in the future. Please see my website which can be found at https://www.shaolin.org.

There is a lot of information about health, vitality, longevity, peak performance and spiritual joys irrespective of religion or the lack of one. There is also a lot of information about daily living.

Question 7

I particularly like "Fragrant Fox" you wrote and hope that it becomes published

— Sifu Miguel Spariosu, Shaolin Wahnam Utrecht

Answer

"Fragrant Fox" was the time when I was interested in Chinese novels, particularly in "Gu Long" which meant "Ancient Dragon".

It was also the time when I had learned from Sifu Ho Fatt Nam, the third generation successor from the Shaolin Monastery from southern China.

It was the time when my wife and I moved to Kedah, Malaysia after my time in Trengganu. I thought that I could promote kungfu for combat.

It was unlikely that "Fragrant Fox" would be published. I believe that a person could live his life fruitfully. He needs not be famous or wealthy.

I was much influenced by my wife, that is, a person can still live his life fruitfully by being an ordinary person.

But we can learn a lot from "Fragrant Fox". We can use kungfu for sparring, especially in a setting full of suspense and romance created by Gu Long.

Besides sparring, there are also many wonderful benefits we can get from practicing kungfu.

Question 8

I am healthy and feel very lucky to be alive.

Answer

Of course, you are healthy and feel very lucky to be alive. Health is our greatest wealth.

You should not only be healthy, i.e. free from illness, but also full of vitality and have longevity. You are very young now, but vitality and longevity will come as you practice your kungfu every day.

Good health, vitality and longevity are the direct result of chi kung, and kungfu is better than chi kung. Peak performance and spiritual joys irrespective of religion or the lack of one, is the result of practicing high level chi kung.

Feeling lucky to be alive is very important. It generates good thoughts -- for ourselves and others. It is wonderful to have good thoughts. It makes every day joyful.
