COUNTERING A WRESTLER IN THE PROGRESS OF HIS ATTACK

Shaolin Kung Fu

If an opponent has grabbed your legs but has not taken you to the ground, you can stop his shoot by using "Fierce Tiger Crouching on Ground"

You may apply a counter to an attack at three points of time: at the initial stage when the attack has just started, or Point 1; at the intermediate stage when the attack is in progress, or Point 2; and at the final stage when the attack is about to be completed or has been established, or Point 3.

Countering after you have been pinned down is at Point 3, i.e. the opponent has established his attack. The video series here shows the counters at Point 2, i.e. the opponent has grabbed your legs and is about to take you to the floor. The counter pattern is "Fierce Tiger Crouching on Ground". Do be very careful in your practice. When applied skillfully, you may maim or kill the opponent, which you would not want to do.
