Question 1

Here are my post notes for the Shaolin Cosmos Qigong talk.

Immediately after the talk, the CEO who attended asked if I would run a live residential course on Shaolin Cosmos Qigong. Of course, I realise that I need permission from our grandmaster before considering this possibility.

— James, England

Answer

Thanks for the report.

Emphasizing on the difference between high level chi kung and low level chi kung is very important. Many people think that they can learn chi kung anywhere, but they perform only gentle, physical exercise without realizing that they do not practice chi kung. This is an important point to mention. Chi kung was rare in the past; it is still very rare at present.

Normally I do not allow people to make videos as they easily mistake the form of chi kung as chi kung. It is only the form. An analogy is Taijiquan.

But as you allowed the CEO to make a video, you can carry on. There is no need to send me the video for editing. You knew the talk better.

There is no need to run another course. Those who missed the talk just missed the talk. If the CEO ever asks you to give another talk, you must consider, but normally you would refuse. You gave the talk once. You must act and behave tough.

Genuine chi kung is very rare today, and high level chi kung rarer still. People just practice gentle, physical exercise but think that is chi kung. They are never be able to generate an energy flow which gives the wonderful benefits of chi kung.

Question 2

The video is something I would like to use at a later date for marketing. It is currently about 80 minutes long.

Answer

It is rare to ask questions from a qualified teacher and get the answers immediately.

You can use the video at a later date for marketing. You may need to shorten it. Perhaps you can leave out the questions from the audience. A video should be about 5 minutes long, or shorter.

Question 3

When can courses resume again?

— Sifu Zhang Wuji, Shaolin Wahnam Singapore

Answer

Practicing our genuine chi kung is a good way to prevent any disease. It is even better if you practice kungfu. Our Shaolln arts will give us good health, vitality. longevity, peak performance and spiritual joys irrespective of religion.

Simu, my loving wife, has pampered me a great deal. She pours water for me and serves me meals. Luckily she doesn't feed me, or else I may become so dependable.

The lockdown will soon be over, and there will be an increase of people taking chi kung. Unfortunately, most people, including "masters", practice gentle, physical exercise, and think it is chi kung. It is true that those accomplished in the Shaolin arts are better than changing stones to gold by touch.

Question 4

I hope you can consider a course for the 3 staff sets -- Ho Family, Ng Long, and the Wing Choon Six and Half Point.

Answer

It is great that you recommend three staff sets -- Flowing Water Staff, 8th Octagonal Staff, and Six and Half Point Staff. They are the three staff sets that are the most famous.

You can learn the staff sets on your own, though it is difficult to learn the techniques of locking the opponent's weapons with your staff. The staff is the most representative of the martial arts. It is particularly representative of Shaolin.

Question 5

About 3 weeks ago Dato's Eddie Shung contacted me and enquired whether I was still providing chi kung healing services.

— Dr Foong Tuck Meng, Holistic Health Cultivation Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malayia

Answer

Chi kung healing is your forte. I am proud of you. In future, you may focus on chi kung healing, like providing good health to the super wealthy and charging only if they are not sick. The super wealthy can easily afford your fees.

It may be a good idea to call Dato's Eddie Shung about the new fees you charge. Charging RM50,000 with money back guarantee, and adding RM10,000 per month without guarantee, is reasonable. The super wealthy can easily afford the fees. Tell him that you are doing him a favour.

Question 6

A good friend of mine said her father has been diagnosed with colon cancer for the past 2 years and he has been undergoing Western medical treatment.

Answer

Regarding your good friend, her father will certainly have a better life. He may recover, though Western medicine has little hope.

Charging RM18,000 without any guarantee may be little, especially if you are going to see him 5 days a week. You can charge more. He should practice on his own the other 2 days even though you don't see him.

good thoughts

It is important to have good thoughts always

Question 7

I do feel that RM50K is too little for money back guarantee chi kung healing. I am thinking of increasing the fee to RM80K to be serious about our capability.

Recently I found out that some insurance companies allow patients to claim a certain amount of money for alternative treatment.

Answer

Charging RM 50,000 is actually not much if we give money-back guarantee and especially when inflation has grown many times. But many people may not afford it. Most people practice gentle, physical exercise but think that it is chi kung.

If you charge the super wealthy RM 50,000 with money-back guarantee, it is chicken feed. You can raise your charge to RM 80,000 if you teach the super wealthy. You can also charge them if they fall sick of so-called incurable diseases.

You should work with insurance companies. This is very important.

Question 8

After reading your book on "Heart Sutra" I have been trying hard to learn and practice "Heart Sutra" seriously and sincerely.

Answer

The "Heart Sutra" records the Enlightenment of Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, or Guan Yin Bodh Satt in Chinese. It is also the gist of Mahayana Buddhism.

Our mind is indeed very powerful, and our thoughts very important. We must always have good thoughts.
