Slanting your body backward is an effective way to avoid kicks


Sifu Luis Morgado demonstrates some typical Taekwondo kicks. Many people find it hard to defend against kicks, considering them more forceful and have longer reach than strikes. Actually it is quite easy to defend against kicks. You may use "Low Stance Single Whip", for example, to defend against all kicks! When you know you are safe from kicking attacks, you can progress to counters.
