SAP LUK SAU OR SIXTEEN HAND TECHNIQUES

Wing Choon Kungfu

Sifu Robin uses phon sau to deflect Sifu Tim's middle attack

When Grandmaster Wong first learned chi sau from Patriarch Choe Hoong Choy, the movements were random. To save time and to ensure students do not miss out important techniques, Grandmaster Wong has compiled all fundamental chi sau techniques into three basic sets.

This is the first set, and it covers all important hand attacks and defences at the top, middle, bottom and side levels, and includes the left mode and the right mode, as well as the out-gate approach and the in-gate approach. There are 32 techniques in the set, 16 for attack and 16 for defence. Do you know what these 16 attack techniques and 16 defence technqies are?

Sifu Tim Franklin and Sifu Robin Gamble record this set for the reference of the course participants as well as others who may be interested to learn Choe Family Wing Choon as taught in Shaolin Wahnam. For convenience and following the tradition of past Wing Choon masters who were practical in namely their sets, we call this set of chi sau "Sap Luk Sau", or "Sixteen Hand Techniques".
