TA CHONG OR FORCE TRAINING ON STANCE

Triple Strecth

The class practicing "ta chong" to develop internal force

"Ta Chong" or "force training in stance" is a characteristic feature of some Southern Shaolin or Hoong Ka kungfu sets like this Triple Stretch Set. Practitioners perform certain force training methods while sitting on a Horse-Riding Stance on one side, then repeat the procedure on the other side.

Each side usually contains four internal force training patterns. The internal force developed is quite substantial. This explains why many past masters were very powerful though they did not use special force training methods like Iron Palm and Iron Fist. They derived their internal force from their set training itself.
