COMBAT SEQUENCE 13 - FELL TREE WITH ROOTS

Shaolin Kungfu

The attacker pulls back his leg after a kick as an opponent trims it

This is Combat Sequence 13 which is called "Fell Tree with Roots". Unbalancing an opponent, rather than using brutal strength, is employed in the felling techniques. A good counter is "Double Butterflies Fly Together", where the Unicorn Step is used to neutralize the throw. It is important to guard the opponent's hands with your elbow when deflecting his attack.
