COMBAT SEQUENCE 9 - HAPPY BIRD HOPS UP BRANCH
As your opponent attacks, you respond with a surprised side-kick
You apply pressing attacks on an opponent, then pause to tempt him to counter attack. When he does so, or if he hesitates, you respond with a surprised side-kick in the pattern "Happy Bird Hops up Branch", which is also the name of this combat sequence. A useful counter against the side-kick is to move back and strike the kicking leg, using the pattern "Lohan Strikes Drum". Notice that this is no defence direct counter.
