OPENING, CLOSING AND COVERING
Opening or closing an opponent is essential when moving in to attack
As you move in to initiate an attack, it is very important to open or close your opponent so that it is difficult for him to strike you while you attack him. You should not expose yourself as you move in to attack. Surprisingly many martial artists today do not pay much attention to this important principle. You should cover not only your upper and middle body, but your lower body, especially your groin, as well.
