SINGLE HAND GRIPS AND DOUBLE HAND GRIPS IN CHIN-NA ATTACKS

Wahnam Taijiquan
Grandmaster Wong grips Andrain's arm and pulls him to fall forward. How would you conter such a chin-na attack?

The many chin-na techniques may be classified into two main categories ? single hand grips and double hand grips. Gripping an opponent?s arm with one hand and simultaneously striking hihurt him. m the other hand falls into the category of single hand grips.

Gripping an opponent?s arm with both hands, as in ?Small Child Catches Snake?, and pulling him to fall forward, falls into the category of double hand grips. But if you use two hands to grip your opponent, can you hurt him. Yes, you may grip his vital points, dislocate his elbow or shoulder, and smash his head onto the ground.
