The Shaolin Traveling Dragon Pakua Set has special significance in our school, Shaolin Wahnam. It was the set that first “enlightened” Grandmaster Wong in his understanding of combat application. After learning this set and its application, Grandmaster Wong was able to see combat applications of other kungfu sets and styles even when he had not learnt them before!
Grandmaster Wong learned this set from his sifu, Grandmaster Ho Fatt Nam, the third-generation successor from the Venerable Jiang Nan of the southern Shaolin Temple. It was a highly acclaimed set in Grandmaster Ho's school. It was also the set that Grandmaster Ho chose to teach the Sultan (King) of the state where he was living.
The set is performed here by Sifu Anthony Korahais, the Chief Instructor of Shaolin Wahnam USA. It is purposely performed slowly to enable students who wish o specialize in this set to learn it.
