The concept of liaison in linguistics in helpful. For example, we say /than kyou/ and not /thank you/, /com mon/ and not /come on/.

Another helpful piece of advice for smooth flow is to get ready to start the next movement before the completion of the current movement, and not get ready when you have completed the current movement. For example, 1-2-3-4 and 5-6-7-8 represent continuous steps of two separate movements. Get ready to start 5 when you are at 3, and not when you have completed 4.
